God of Our Fathers, Whose Almighty Hand

This energetic hymn was a fun one to put together. The original hymn begins with a great organ fanfare, which I incorporated into the accompaniment.

The hymn talks about the might, majesty, and power of God. It reminds us of His divine love and the promised blessings bestowed upon those who live in 'this free land.'

I particularly like the part that the women emphasize in verse 2. It reads:

  • Be thou our Ruler, Guardian, Guide, and Stay
  • Thy word our law, thy paths our chosen way.
The song closes with all parts singing this prayer:
  • Thy true religion in our hearts increase
  • Thy bounteous goodness nourish us in peace.
This is such a fanstastic hymn- in music, poetry, and doctrine.
